Lessons learned when building a website for a non-profit organization – many, and expensive. Advice on how to avoid these pitfalls – Priceless.

Denton Digital is glad to take on any client interested in building a wordpress website for their non-profit organization. Just as a note of pay policy for building a non-profit website, if you have a budget for your website, and your non-profit websites for other events related to your organization, we would like to think there’s an equal pay for equal work policy in effect at every well-run, well functioning non-profit organization. At least that’s what we would like to think. We can tell you, first hand, it doesn’t always work out that way!

So, if you are a non-profit looking for a website that will do everything you would want it to do, and probably a lot more, feel free to contact Denton Digital, and we can go over your needs and our abilities to meet those needs — even on a non-profit budget.

Organization and Club Websites

If you are trying to promote your club with a website, or promote your profit or non-profit organization with a website, I have found that wordpress is a great way to create websites that are very user friendly, and easy to run and maintain with the most minimal skills required to “make it go.”

A perfect example of a website that “hit the ground running” is the one I created for a fly fishing organization that covers the entire State of Texas. The site was designed for the Texas Council of International Federation of Fly Fishers, and I simply took the mandate for a site that would be “current, informative, and easy to disseminate information,” and within a few hours had the Texas Council’s website up and running. Thankfully, the president of the organization was on board for a quick and revolutionary approach to the problem of a new website, and since the Council was newly formed, he ruled by mandate – and we got it done!

The site has been live for a few months, but if you visit the Texas Council of International Federation of Fly Fishers, you will see just how far you can go to host and spread information about your organization. The drop down menus are loaded with nested pages of information designed to enhance each individual club’s experience, and share the experiences among other clubs who are interested.

In future months, the site will be a hub for the largest gathering of fly fishing the State of Texas has ever seen. More information on that event will be available on their site, and the ability to download information, maps and forms will be integrated into the content as well.
