Artists who’ve been working as long as local sculptor Richard Davis know that a website is actually your window to the world. Good websites area tool that, along with a complete arsenal of promotional tools, can lead to financial success and a much higher profile in the art community.
If you are an art student, the one thing you are not taught (in universities around here) is how to do business as an artist. Needless to say, you need a website – BEFORE YOU GRADUATE! It’s completely up to you. I can tell you we don’t hire anyone without a website – a good one – for assisting, or backup photography jobs. And if you, as a student don’t care enough about your craft, to show it (to the world), then you may want to consider another line of work.
